The share register must be updated - at all times, to satisfy the requirements of the Companies Act. Furthermore, the company is responsible for submitting the Shareholder Register statement each year to the Shareholder Register.

On 1 November 2021, parts of the Act of 1 March 2019 no. 2 on the register of beneficial owners and the Regulations of 26 June 2021 no. 2056 to the Act on the register of beneficial owners will enter into force.

This is based on the EU's 4th and 5th money laundering directives, and from this point on it is required to keep an internal register of beneficial owners, and document their assessment - regardless of whether there are beneficial owners according to the definition or not.
